Sia Releases Music Video For "Cheap Thrills" Featuring Maddie Ziegler

Sia just released a new video for her song Cheap Thrills – and we’re loving it!

The video features Maddie Ziegler, who also starred in Sia’s other videos for Chandelier, Elastic Heart, and Big Girls Cry. The 13-year-old dancer is also set to star in Sister, a movie written by Sia herself.

The Cheap Thrills video was directed by Sia and Daniel Askill, and the choreography was once again made by Ryan Heffington, who has been working with Sia since Chandelier. Other than Ziegler, the video features two other dancers, and the three set the perfect mood for the video. The choreography is as intense as in the other videos, but the dance is more upbeat and enthusiastic.

The Australian singer revealed last year that she originally wrote the song for Rihanna, whom she also wrote Diamonds for. Back in December she said, “I realized just as soon as I was cutting it that it sounded a little bit too Brit-pop for her. It’s more Icona Pop. We did actually send it to her, but they passed on it, and then I just couldn’t stop listening to it in the car.”

She elaborated saying, “For some reason, I really liked listening to it, which makes me feel masturbatory, but I wouldn’t normally be just jamming out to my own tunes. There’s something really uplifting about it that put me in a good mood, and I would just pretend it wasn’t me singing. It felt very summer and fun, and I was like, ‘I’ll put that on there.'”
