Tim Tebow thought Olivia Culpo was a goddess & but she was not interested
Over the weekend, the NYDN claimed that Olivia Culpo had dumped her boyfriend of a couple months, Tim Tebow, because he wouldn’t put out. Tebow is famously a virgin and famously waiting until marriage to have sex. Which is his right. And it’s Olivia’s right to want to get her rocks off. This seemed like a perfect case of a blameless breakup, if the breakup really did happen the way the NYDN’s sources claimed. Well, Us Weekly says that’s not exactly the case. Their sources say that Olivia dumped him because she wasn’t looking for a boyfriend (who wouldn’t put out) and even though “they met at church,” she wasn’t interested. What church was that again? Our Lady of Immaculate V-Cards? Quite honestly, Us Weekly’s version of events makes Tim sound really extra.
The real deal. After it was revealed that Olivia Culpo and Tim Tebow had split after a few months of dating, a source close the former Miss Universe reveals exclusively to Us Weekly exactly what went wrong between the two. While it was widely speculated and reported by the New York Daily News that Tebow’s vow to remain a virgin until marriage was the main reason for the breakup, the insider tells Us that timing played another role.
“They met at church,” the Culpo source tells Us of the pair, adding that the stars “hung out a few times” and share mutual friends. In fact, it was a pal who set up the beauty queen, 23, and Heisman winner, 28, as first reported by Us last month.
“Tim’s super into her,” a source told Us at the time. “It’s very new, but he thinks she is a goddess. He’s very attentive and writes her sweet notes all the time.”
Indeed, the Culpo source reiterates to Us that Tebow liked Culpo a lot, but her heart just wasn’t ready for a new romance. “He was very into her,” the source tells Us. “But she just got out of a long-term relationship and was not interested.”
Tim thinks Olivia is a “goddess”? He was “very into her”? But then once he got his shot with her, he didn’t know what to do with her? That’s what it sounds like. Like it was all romance and hearts and love letters and then when he finally got his chance to lock it down, he had no idea what to do with her. I said this yesterday, and I’ll say it again: women getting involved with Tebow know ahead of time that he’s saving sex for marriage. So why do women who want some action even get involved? Like, I have to believe that Olivia thought – at some point – that Tim was so “into her” that she would take his virginity. When she found out he really wasn’t going to give it up, she lost interest. That’s what it seems like.
